Victory for Rock Art Brewery
News is breaking this evening that small Vermont brewer Rock Art Brewery may just have won their battle against beverage giant Hansen. Details are vague right now, but some smatterings across Facebook, blogs, a local radio station site, and the brewer's own homepage indicate that the cease and desist against the 7-employee Vermont craft brewery may have been dropped - presumably contingent on the grounds that the brewery stay out of the energy drink market.
I will append more details once they are available, but at this point in time maintain my argument and my opinion of Monster Energy and Hansen beverage. I am overwhelmed by the awesome effect of social media collaboration on this outcome - I mean just LOOK at this support! And really that's only the tip of the iceberg. Supporters flooded across Twitter and Facebook, infiltrating the Monster lovefest online - and most importantly in the stores. Comments covered the web of shop owners dropping Hansen products and consumers banding in support of a boycott.
Nice work, folks - and I hope Rock Art enjoys years of success brewing great beer. And hey Rock Art - If you're looking to bring on an 8th to keep up with increased demand - hit me up!
UPDATE 10/22 - Rock Art posted an official statement on their site as well as a three part letter with a timeline of events - Direct link to download the PDF
