    Impressions

The Pony Bar is one of the youngest craft beer establishments in midtown. With 20 rotating taps and 2 cask engines, The Pony serves only American craft beer and, best of all, at $5 a glass (higher ABV beers are served in smaller glasses). The taps are cleaned and serviced regularly, with the date of last service stamped proudly behind the bar. The decor aims to play rustic, with an all-wooden bar, exposed brick, and some free standing barrels for makeshift high-top tables; but the establishment feels too clean and polished to feel entirely authentic, and the packed-in button-down crowd quickly reminds you you're not at the Blind Tiger. Cleanliness can, however,  be a good thing, and these folks are playing tribute to some of our nation's finest beers. At the end of the day, it's all about the beer - and the beer is great.

    Vibe: 6 / 10

    Service: 7 / 10

    Beer Selection: 8 / 10

Other Thoughts: The Pony serves decent looking food, but try to get there early for a table, and avoid the crowds and the noise.
