Impressions
The Stag's Head offers 16 taps of American craft beer, and a solid handful of bottles to boot. The selection changes regularly and is nicely spread out among styles, offering a little something for all beer fans. The decor is old and rustic, deep-stained wood and brick; a little dark, divey and worn-in. At times the bar may feel like a cabin or a hunting lodge, an interesting and surreal contrast from midtown. There may have even been a deer head somewhere on the wall, or it may have been imagined, but either way fitting. Friendly, helpful servers and decent food help make this a great escape in midtown East.
Vibe: 6 /1 0
Service: 7 / 10
Beer Selection: 8 / 10
Other Thoughts: There is an upstairs balcony/party room for private events and presumably open to the public when not in use (?). The food is simple but well thought-out and the menu includes some great cheese selections.
