The Beer of the Month Club by Clubs of America has been in business since 1994. They’re gift specialists in multiple areas (like wine, coffee, chocolate) and understand that what they’re really doing is not “selling beer” or “shipping beer,” but “delivering happiness” to the recipient.
Their customer service also distinguishes them. According to their surveyed customers, 98% of them are very satisfied and would highly recommend their products. Clubs of America has also been featured in several popular magazines such as USA Today and Reader’s Digest.
How it Works
Their Beer of the Month Club works very similarly to most other beer clubs out there and has several different options for frequency of delivery. You can either choose an ongoing membership that will deliver every single month until you decide to cancel (great flexibility!) or you pre-select how long you want your beer club membership to last.
There is also a convenient option that allows you to choose monthly, bi-monthly, or every third month for shipment. This is a great option for the infrequent beer drinker who maybe has one or two a week, or if you just don’t have space to .
Each shipment comes with 4 different selections totaling 12 unique craft beers, which is 3 of each selection. Since a lot of breweries are now switching to cans, you may have a mixture of cans and bottles. Clubs of America gives you free shipping every single month.

Clubs of America’s Beer Variety
Let’s face it, a good variety of craft beers is perhaps one of the most important things to look for in a beer club. No one wants a 12-pack of the same beer. It kind of defeats the point doesn’t it?
Beer of the Month Club makes sure that this will absolutely never happen by only choosing rare, flavorful craft beers that may be nearly impossible for you to get without taking a long road trip or buying plane tickets.
Each month you’ll receive 3 bottles of 4 different beers. Included in the craft beer variety list is nearly every single type of beer made from light-colored flavorful lagers too dark as night imperial stouts. Here is a short list of a few of the types of beer you may find in your beer delivery.
- Lager
- Witty
- Pilsner
- Hefeweizen
- Belgian White
- Amber Ale
- Black Ale
- Red Ale
- Stout
- Imperial Stout
- Bourbon Barrel Stout
- Oatmeal Stout
- Porter
- IPA
- Double IPA
- Seasonal flavored Ales
- …. and tons more
Monthly Selection Process
Each month the craft beer is uniquely selected by a panel of beer tasting experts that will pick and choose which beers you will receive. This panel of beer experts bases their decision off of the flavor and rarity of the beer.
Since these beers are hand-selected and previously chosen by their team, there’s no way to customize your order. On the other hand, this makes each delivery a complete surprise, a feature that lots of fans really like. It’s like Christmas each time shipment comes! This club has been around since 1994 with a ridiculous amount of satisfied customers so they must be doing something right with their selection!
They have a cool perk: if you’re absolutely in love with a specific month’s selection, thisclub gives you the option to reorder that month’s picks at a discounted price (as long you are a member).– Check out Clubs of America Beer of the Month Club For Yourself! –
Community
This club really does not have much of a community offering, which makes sense, as they historically have specialized on gifts rather than the comradery of craft beer. So, if you’re into just enjoying your beer and don’t need the group thing, this shouldn’t matter to you so much. Or, an easy solution: bring a friend over to enjoy the brews with you and discuss!
Also, included in each shipment is a newsletter called “Beer Expeditions.” This will hopefully keep you up to date on the latest selections and give you a little more information on each of the different brews and breweries that they come from. When trying a new beer it’s nice to know a little of the history of each of the breweries and how each beer is made. It’s also a great way to improve your “beer fluency,” as you learn more about different styles, tasting notes, terminology, etc.
Shipping
Since Clubs of America has been shipping out beer to their members for over 20 years, they seem to have mastered the art of shipping beer and use a network of Common Carriers to get the beer to your doorstep perfectly safe and unharmed, 100% guaranteed. Also, their customer service can help if there are ever any issues.

As we said in the intro, their great ratings speak for themselves!
